Brady’s Run Ice Arena has many programs to help children learn how to skate. There are also public sessions on weekends and weekdays that anyone can enjoy. It cost 15 dollars to skate on the public sessions. I work down there with many other people that can help with providing the best experience possible.
I interviewed a few people that had some opinions about how Brady’s Run Ice Arena helps the community better itself and what type of environment the ice arena has.
“The Beaver County Recreation Facility provides all of its users an opportunity to not only a constructive form of physical activity for people of all ages and ability but also the chance to do this in a safe and affordable environment.” Tony Caltury, Recreation and Tourism Director, said.
There are not many places children can hangout in beaver county besides the ice arena or bowling alleys, and Brady’s Run is the closest ice arena for most people who live in Beaver County. My coworker explained this in a few words.
“It’s a fun bonding experience for friends and a good way to spend quality time with family.” Alfy Cornelius, maintenance, said.
The average person burns 640 to 850 calories depending on time on the ice, a person’s weight or height, and how vigorous someone is skating. As well as people can expand their friend groups and become more confident in talking to other people.
“It’s good exercise, a good hobby to meet new people in the area.” Amanda Felkey, Facility and Business Manager, said.
82 out of 334 of students at OLSH reside in Beaver County. That is 24% of the student body leaving close to Brady’s Run Ice Arena, so it is just a nice thing to do on weekends instead of just laying in bed.
All and all, the ice rink is an activity to make new friends, spend time with family, exercise, and an affordable place of business.
