Who Will Be President?

Evie Hoff, 2017, Staff

The election this year has sparked a ton of controversy, and has left a lot of Americans wondering who will be the next leader of our country. There is an interesting mix of candidates on both sides and each one brings something different to the table. On the Democrat side are former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and US Senator Bernie Sanders, and on the Republican side are US Senator Ted Cruz, Governor John Kasich, and Businessman Donald Trump. It is suspected that Clinton will become president if Trump wins the GOP nomination. She is thought to be a stronger candidate than Sanders by many people. However, if Sanders can beat her in New York on April 19, his campaign could gain more momentum. Trump is considered to be the main candidate for the Republican party, and the only other Republican candidate who people consider able to challenge him is Cruz. Though many doubt that Kasich could win, he still has a chance of winning the Republican nomination. Most people believe that Trump will win the Republican vote and Clinton will win the Democrat vote. This election is truly an interesting one, and no one can predict what will happen in November.
