Peyton Manning Benched
November 25, 2015
This is statistically Peyton Manning’s worst season in his entire pro career. Many believe that father time is catching up to him. Manning is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, quarterback in the history of the NFL. He’s been to the Super Bowl three times and won a ring once. He’s also been to the Pro-Bowl fourteen times, and was the AP NFL MVP five times. Peyton has won almost every award possible and has broken almost every quarterback record possible. Fans of Peyton hoped to see him stay for one more season, but that probably wasn’t the best idea. Now most say that he should’ve retired happily, instead of end his career throwing interceptions and being injured.
Peyton and the Broncos (7-1) played their Week 10 game against the Kansas City Chiefs (3-5). Most NFL analysts predicted the Broncos to be victorious over the Chiefs, but Kansas City had an unbelievable upset! The Broncos ended up losing 29-13. Peyton Manning started off the game well, passing a milestone. He broke Brett Favre’s record for most passing yards in an NFL career with 71,871! Later in the game, he started going downhill. He completed five of twenty passes and threw four interceptions with a passer rating of 0.0. Head coach Gary Kubiak had no other choice but to bench him. The day after the game, it turned out that Peyton was suffering from plantar fasciitis. He wil not play week 11 and might possibly even miss more weeks due to the injury.
This is a concern for Broncos fans. After starting out 6-0 and having high hopes to enter the Super Bowl, the Bronco’s may end up in big trouble. Peyton Manning is definitely a first ballot hall of famer, but this season is not helping him at all.
