Ways to Combat Stress
March 24, 2015
With the last few months of the school year approaching, the stress levels at OLSH are only going to increase. This is the time of the year that the last big projects are assigned, finals are in the back of everyone’s minds, and the seniors begin to worry about college. These are a few simple ways to help deal with stress, in the hopes of living a more successful life.
Most people would agree that one of the best things a person can do is not put too much on their plate at one time. It is important to learn to say “no” once in awhile, for stretching oneself too thin can never end well. It will only lead to stress, either from overworking, or procrastinating until the last possible minute.
Another suggestion is to practice being more positive. Altering how you view a situation into a more optimistic light can make you feel more appreciative. As a result, you will begin to feel happier.
Possibly the most important thing anyone can do is adopt to a healthy lifestyle. Eating healthy, exercising, and getting enough sleep are all crucial for a better life.
Lastly, make time to relax. Listening to music, going for a walk, or hanging out with friends are all good ways to unwind. People should set time aside every day just to do something for themselves. In addition, laughing is an easy way to fight stress. A main priority for everyone should be doing things that can make them smile.
Everyone gets stressed. The difference in each person is how they deal with it.
