The 2024 OLSH Spring Musical was announced at the final performance of this year’s Fall Play. In March, audiences will be transported to the westward plains when our cast crew performs Oklahoma! on the OLSH stage!
Not familiar with the show? Oklahoma! is about a headstrong farmgirl, Laurey, who is the love interest of two men – earnest cowboy Curly, and dangerous farmhand Jud. Their love triangle attracts the interest of the whole town. If you like singing catchy songs and sometimes dancing very silly numbers, then Spring Musical is for you!
Fun fact: In 2014, the song Oklahoma from the play was the 8th best song out of all of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s plays!
Before they can fully immerse themselves in the world of Oklahoma, however, the theatre department must focus on the annual Christmas Play.
This year, OLSH theater is putting on “A Pirate Christmas.” The play is about Santa’s elves who get to take a break at the beach a couple days before Christmas, but then run into pirates who mistake the elves for other pirates and Santa as their captain! Will these elves get out safely, or will they walk the plank? The show has silly songs, comedic lines, fun characters, and action-filled scenes! Songs like “Cool to be Cool” and “Island Christmas” are lots of fun and toe-tapping.
Families are also invited enjoy FREE milk and cookies with Santa after the matinee performance on Saturday, around 1:00pm.
