Recap on the 2022-23 Girls Basketball Season

Alexa S. '26

A huge congratulations to the OLSH Girls Basketball team on a great season! The girls ended the season 22-8 overall with a final 3A state ranking. The girls also made history by being the first girls basketball team at OLSH to make it to the semi-finals!

After a close game against River Valley, the girls unfortunately fell short by six points.  This loss doesn’t define the girls and their impressive season. The girls had many surprising games, including the upset against WPIAL 3A champions, Avonworth.

When junior Presley Holmes was asked to recap the season in a single phrase, she said it was a battle. The girls were second round exits in the W.P.I.A.L. playoffs, but they picked their heads up and got back in the gym. The girls proved everyone wrong by making it further than anyone expected in the state playoffs with all the odds against them.

The girls worked well together all season long. With the three E’s on their side: energy, effort, and enthusiasm, the girls were able to do it all!

Congratulations seniors, we wish you best of luck! And good luck to next year’s team; you made Charger Nation proud!
