2019 Winter Sports Assembly

As Winter is soon to begin, OLSH students this past Friday came together at the end of the day to cheer on their fellow winter athletes.

Senior Brock Saftner started off the assembly with prayer, and senior Caroline Friend sang the national anthem.

OLSH is quite familiar to successful seasons now that both the girls and boys basketball teams start the 2019 season after both won the WPIAL championship last year.

OLSH students got a chance to meet the winter sports athletes, as all of our winter teams came up to introduce themselves and talk about their upcoming season. Highlighted sports included basketball, swimming, hockey, bowling, cheerleading, dance team, and indoor track.

During the assembly, we also had a few challenges that students could participate in. A gift wrapping contest was held to see which student from each class had the best wrapping skills this holiday season. Junior Maddie Fiedler was victorious. A close relay race left the girls basketball team victorious over the boys basketball team after Coach Mac made the deciding call.

The OLSH cheerleaders also were there to perform and cheer on to keep up the energy. Overall the Winter sports assembly was a success and a great way to start off this 2019/2020 season.
