Super Bowl Predictions NFC

Matthew Gaunter, Sports Writer

The NFC is always far more unpredictable than the AFC. I do have a prediction though, on who will be representing the NFC in this year’s Super Bowl. Some people believe that the Falcons have some unfinished business in the Super Bowl and are looking to make a return. The same talent is there from last year but I don’t think they will be as successful as they were last year. Another legitimate contender is Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Any team with Rodgers is automatically a contender, but other than Rodgers there’s really nothing else that’s overly impressive about Green Bay. Then, the biggest bandwagon team in the NFC, the Dallas Cowboys, have maybe the best chance with making it. They are stacked with the best offensive line in the league, the best running back in the NFC plus a talented quarterback in Dak Prescott. I predict them going to the NFC Championship, but no further.

My prediction for the NFC champions are the Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson is a very exceptional quarterback and he’s proven that in the past. In his sixth year, he’s already made it to two Super Bowls and won one, so with the skill, the experience and the leadership is already there. The Seahawks also have the fantastic Tight End in Jimmy Graham. It is a known theory that defenses win championships and I believe that the Seahawks have the best defense in the NFC if not all of the NFL. Their defense is has been recognized for a while now to be a dominating opponent. When the Seahawks won their first Super Bowl in 2013 against the Broncos, they had one of the greatest defenses ever. This year their defensive talents include an amazing secondary with the best corner in the game, Richard Sherman, solid cornerback Jeremy Lane, pro-bowl Safety Earl Thomas, and the hard hitting safety Kam Chancellor. They also have an impressive D-Line with Sheldon Richardson and Cliff Avril. The defense is completed by their veteran Middle Linebacker Bobby Wagner. The Seattle Seahawks have what I believe is a Super Bowl caliber team this year. It’s going to be a rematch of the 2006 Super Bowl featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Seattle Seahawks.
