Super Bowl Predictions AFC

After an entertaining week 1, I have made a prediction for what I believe will be this year’s NFL Super Bowl contenders. In the NFL things are often unpredictable. There’s always crazy upsets, comebacks, unexpected injuries, etc., but regardless of all this I have made a prediction.

In the American Football Conference (AFC), there are only a few very elite teams. Numerous people believe that the LA Raiders will be representing the AFC in the Super bowl this year. I agree that the Raiders have an impressive team, but I don’t think this year is their year. Then there’s the Kansas City Chiefs, who have an explosive offense and defeated the defending super bowl Champion Patriots. The Chiefs and Raiders share the same division and I doubt either of them will even make it to the AFC Championship. One team that I do think will make it is the New England Patriots. The Patriots are led by Belichick and maybe the greatest quarterback of all time Tom Brady, but Brady is 40 years old and I think that he will be too old to make it to what would be his eighth Super Bowl appearance.

Now this may be a little biased since I am a die hard fan, but I believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be appearing in the Super Bowl for the AFC. They definitely by far have the greatest roster in the entire NFL. With their explosive offense led by the “Killer B’s” (Ben, Bell, Brown, and Bryant.) they should be unstoppable. The Steelers always have an experienced O-line led by David DeCastro and pro-bowl Center Maurkice Pouncey. Pittsburgh’s defense is also probably the best it’s been since our last Super Bowl appearance. The D-Line is led by former first round pick Cameron Heyward, and the Steelers Linebackers are extremely talented with players such as: Bud Dupree, Ryan Shazier, James Harrison, and rookie T. J. Watt. As long as their secondary holds up and Todd Haley does a good job calling the plays, nothing should stop the Steelers.
